Charlotta Denward, who holds a masters degree in literature, philosophy and French, began her career in film as a projectionist at Cinema Södran in Lund. As a producer at Filmlance for seven years, she was involved in successful productions including Elina (Elina- Som om jag inte fanns), The Guy in the Grave Next Door (Grabben i graven bredvid), Immediate Boarding (Tur & retur) and The New Man (Den nya människan). In 2004, European Film Promotion voted her Sweden's Producer on the Move at the Cannes Film Festival.
Charlotta was previously a film commissioner at the Swedish Film Institute from 1996 to 2000. Among the films she commissioned were Show me Love (Fucking Åmål), Tsatsiki, Mum and the Policeman (Tsatsiki, morsan och polisen) and Wings of Glass (Vingar av glas).
