Director Henrik Hellström, cinematographer Fredrik Wenzel and producer Erika Wasserman are back with a follow up to Burrowing (Man tänker sitt). In their new film Hollows (Håligheter) we meet the ageing Marianne, whose intensive days in the company of her niece's young family cause her to reflect on her own life choices.
Successful partnerships are also resumed in the short films. Director Stina Wirsén and producer Linda Hambäck return after their Who films (Vem-filmerna) with the Brokiga films (Brokiga filmerna), in which the characters look pretty but are tough on the inside. Mikael Kristersson continues his study of birds with Starlings (Stare), which shows the life of starlings from inside the nest.
Frida Kempff directs Sound of Silence about an elderly widow who only has her television for company. When it breaks down she looks outwards and finds herself fighting the corner of an abused young boy. Directors Alexandra Arcari Gimdal and Torbjörn Fraenckel give us the animated documentary Prince Filip (Prins Filip) about a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig in the city. In the mournful Autumn Leaves (Tidens minne) Jean-Pascal Strüwer explores a man's existential reflections from Katarinavägen in Stockholm, and Stefan Constantinescu's Dinner with the Family (Middag med familjen) examines the various roles played by a woman: career woman, mother, wife and mistress.
Ronnie Sandahl directs The Route 43 Miracle (Mirakel utmed riksväg 43) about Holger, who writes a significant letter to his son from his deathbed, and in Mousse by John Hellberg, a shopkeeper gets an unexpected visit from the desperate Frenchman Mousse, a man with robbery in mind.
