Nominations for the 2009 Guldbagge Awards

In 2009 Swedish film was extremely successful, and now it’s time to present the nominations for the Guldbagge Award. With four nominations each The Girl, Glowing Stars and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo are in the lead, followed by The Wedding Photographer and Starring Maja with 3 nominations each.

A jury of 34 members has voted in a secret ballot for the following nominations for the 2009 Guldbagge Awards, Sweden's national film awards. The nominations are listed alphabetical in order.

More awards at the ceremony

Three more awards will be given out for best achievements, in fields not already award with a Guldbagge. Further, the Award of honour will be presented, as well as the Gullspira (for extraordinary contributions in films for children) as well as the Audience award.

The Guldbagge Awards ceremony will be held 25 January 2010 at Cirkus in Stockholm. Swedish Television (SVT) will be broadcasting the event live.

Awarded annually since 1964, the Guldbagge ("Golden Beetle") is the name of the Swedish Film Institute's award for achievements during the previous year. The award itself, in the form of a fantastical beetle, was designed by the artist Karl Axel Pehrson.
